Email in: Grey Knights army list

Dakka

"Hi there, Seiter(arch) here.

First up, the customary thanks. 3++ (via Disciple) was my entry into competitive 40k somewhat over a year ago. I've probably read every single (40k) article since that point and really enjoy the high quality content that they tend to contain. I owe a lot to you guys.

On then, to my purpose. I (very) recently wrote my first army list since starting to read the blog and wondered if I could get a veteran opinion on how I could improve it. The army's not for any event in particular, (it takes me way too long painting to set deadlines,) but the high level of investment required for a new army makes me want to get it right first time.

Here's the list:

Grey Knights roster - 2000pts

HQ:
Malleus Inquisitor - Combi-Plasma, Bolt Pistol - 35
Malleus Inquisitor - Combi-Plasma, Bolt Pistol - 35

Elites:
Purifier Squad - Psycannons (2) - 140
Rhino - 40
Henchmen Warband - Warrior Acolyte (5), Plasmagun(3) - 50
Razorback - T-L Assault Cannon, Psybolt - 85
Henchmen Warband - Warrior Acolyte (5), Plasmagun(3) - 50
Razorback - T-L Assault Cannon, Psybolt - 85

Troops:
Strike Squad - Psycannon - 110
Razorback - T-L Assault Cannon, Psybolt - 85
Strike Squad - Psycannon - 110
Razorback - T-L Assault Cannon, Psybolt - 85
Strike Squad - Psycannon - 110
Razorback - T-L Assault Cannon, Psybolt - 85
Strike Squad - Psycannon - 110
Razorback - Lascannon, T-L Plasmagun - 80
Strike Squad - Psycannon - 110
Razorback - Lascannon, T-L Plasmagun - 80
Strike Squad - Psycannon - 110

Heavy Support:
Dreadnought - T-L Autocannon, T-L Autocannon, Psybolt - 135
Dreadnought - T-L Autocannon, T-L Autocannon, Psybolt - 135
Dreadnought - T-L Autocannon, T-L Autocannon, Psybolt - 135

My intentions with the list were to balance the amount of saturation fire provided by a razorspam list with some reactive firepower (in the form of plasma henchmen, along with the purifiers, to a degree) because, whilst psycannons have the ability to deal with MeQs up close, it tends to require the redirection of a sizeable chunk of the army's guns for each squad.

Any advice/comments would be much appreciated."

The list overall is pretty solid but the lack of a transport for the final Strike squad is a bit worrisome. I'd potentially drop the Purifiers alotgether to get the Strike squad a Passback and use the extra points to expand your henchmen squads. I might suggest turning both Inquisitors into TDA + Psycannon Inquisitors and giving the henchmen a bunch of Acolytes in Stormbolters.

This increases your firepower (overcoming the loss of the Purifier psycannons) and ensures all the Strike squad units have a ride turn 1 (the henchmen units can walk around with the extra Acolyte bodies making them decently durable). I'd personally prefer meltaguns for the Acolytes over Plasmaguns as you get the important AP1 against tanks but if you feel you need assistance in dropping MEQs, plasma can help in that regard.

Otherwise the list looks solid.
