I've finally got bored of playing Imperial armies, so I've decided to try my hand at a Mek-themed Ork army.
Keeping it small at 1500, but I'd like to know I could expand it too.
Anyway, the current list is thus:

The Meks join the boyz in the battlewagons and push forward. The Kans open a path for the Wagons with the rokkits. Deff Dreads simply shift up the board and smash anything they come across. The warbuggies are on side-armour harrassment duty. The Lootas do what lootas do best and knock out light armour."
Deff Dreads as Troops aren't really that spectacular as they cannot score. Running more Killa Kanz is often a better bet as you get more of pretty much everything. Balancing what you take in each slot is the issue of course as you want Battlewagons and Kanz and having Loota support isn't a bad thing.
With this in mind let's drop one of the Loota squads, one of the Big Meks and both Deff Dreads. We then take a small Nob squad and give them one of the Battlewagons as a dedicated transport and add another Kanz squad to heavy support. Running them as Rokkits does get you some more reliable shooting but you really want to be running these guys each turn so running Grotzookas is probably a better option.
With the points you've now saved or have leftover, look to get some more Shoota Boyz in Trukks - don't bother with the larger squads. Yes 12 strong isn't great but you want to be able to put lots of bodies down in midfield and have Trukks running around as distractions. Outfit each squad with a PK Nob and Bosspole and go from there.
