Email in: A Good Start? 1850 points of wolves.

"So I came up with this list, with the intention of 3+ save saturation, and maximizing good solid choices without gimmicks. However I feel that the list could use some revision.

Not entirely happy with the Elite slots, but however I need some threat in the Close Combat phase without blowing ridiculous amounts of points on TWC units, or Wolf Lords.

I need that counter to the ever present Thunder Hammer/Terminator bombs, and Assault marine Mini-Stars. I would appreciate any input, thank you. Great job on the blog, keep up the good work, I have garnered alot of good information from the site, thanks again.

Unfortunately... the list isn't scary. There's nothing outside of the Iron Priests that anyone is going to be afraid of. 50 Grey Hunters is cute and that's about it. Most of the time you're going to have trouble killing things and whilst not every opponent is going to be able to kill you easily (50 3+ saves are hard to remove) they will have field and fire control over you. I'd cut the GH to 2-3 squads depending on size and decide what you want your list to do. You've got some midfield support with the Grey Hunters but then tried to add in token long range support with the Fangs and LasPlas RBacks. You can do that but they just seem like add-ons. If you're looking for a counter-assault unit drop the points into the TWC + Lord as they can rip anything a new one. Whilst the IPs are scary, TWC are much scarier.

So main thing is removing most of the GH and then deciding what direction you want to send your list in then we can work out a list for you.

Always ditch hunter power swords in favor of mark of rending attacks.

Like Kirby says, the list is all over the place, and your supposed counter-assault units aren't scary, and not really a threat, either.
The things you think are a threat aren't really such, either.

Think about what you want to accomplish with you army, then add tools that will give you the power to reach your goal.

You can save points by taking only one character on a thunderwolf and then taking a TWC in your free FA slot.

Now, I'd drop one of those five man grey hunter units and take two wolf scout units with a meltagun. You'll need to use those points you saved by taking a TWC in the FA slot to get them.

What the scouts do is give you two units that can attack on your opponets table edge with their 'behind enemy lines' rule. Keep the bolt pistols so you can mix it up in CC if you think you need to do that.

I would also suggest getting rid of one other greay hunter unit and taking another long fang squad. I suggest keeping this unit simple with four missle launchers and a vehicle.

This changes your list by giving you:

- Two good fire support units in the long fangs

- Two units that can appear anywhere on the table in the land speeders

- Two fast attack choices that can enter CC combat in the form of the TWC (FA Slot) with the Character mounted on a thunder wolf

- Two units that can run up behind the enemy from the enemies table edge in the form of scouts

- Four Scoring units in the Greay Hunters

Try the changes or... try the changes after you have practiced with your list. I think you will definatley change things after you use you list a couple of times.
