Email in: Final version of my 2K Mech Guard list

After a few years of playing with the Guard and toying with my list, I have stumbled upon this and wanted to see if it met with approval from people such as yourself.
Haven't really had a chance to test it properly, but I played a slight variant of it a couple of months ago and all but destroyed my opponent. But it being an objectives game i still drew.

This is what I have chosen to be a final draught of my Guard list, but there are a couple of changes i could make. Like I could replace the LRBT with a Manitcore if i so chose to. And one thing i would change from time to time would be to include a ST Squad with Meltas and pack them into a Chimera and give them the Scout rule and pop smoke when they scout. Its worked for me a few times in the past in focusing the opponent's attention away from the rest of my army in the first turn.

The core is there but there are some questionables as well. Why do you have combat upgrades on the Platoon and Company Command Squads? These guys should have extra special weapons rather than poking sticks, they aren't Straken. The Veterans need a Chimera, the SWT are best for chucking in the Vendettas for potential scout alpha-strikes though these should not always be done, remember that.

Three Russes is fine as Heavy Support though I'd rather see two Russes and two Hydras but Pask Vanquishers aren't great. You're paying well in excess of 200 points and only have a couple shots which aren't even AP1 unless you get the MMs in range. Still dies to melta and is really inefficient (I'd be dropping this for the 2x Hydras and extra Chimera for the veterans). The Hydras give you more direct ranged firepower (something the list is lacking atm - lots of S6 and S9 though) which is great for suppression.

Otherwise you've got a lot of infantry bodies and vehicles out there to prove troublesome to your opponent with your only downside really being the lack of individual punch of the Infantry Platoons but when you have a bunch of them, they can make up for it (plus they bring Chimeras).
