Email in: 1000 point army list for review

"Kirby, I have never emailed someone for army list help, but after subscribing to your blog I thought it would interesting to see what you could do with a army list of mine. I would like to use the entire contents of the Dark Eldar battleforce to make a good 1000 point army list. That's it! The only catch for the entire list is to use all of the contents and add to them. I was thinking that this would also be a good place for new players to start from. Here is the list that I have come up with. I really like the idea of a heamonculus themed army, and I really like the talos / chronos model as well. Items highlighted in red are the ones from the battleforce. If needed I can send you the Army Builder file as well.

The core of the list - Wyches & Warriors, is solid. Rest? Less so. Malys isn't really adding much here - you really want her with static units such as Dark Lances on infantry to get them the best deployment possible. Grots aren't that great though are pretty tough. Reavers are a decent unit but three strong is too light - they should be at least six and the Talos is too slow without a Webway portal, which is hard to accurately fit into a 1000 point list.

I'd be looking at dropping Malys, the Grots (Raider to the Wyches) and Pain Engine in favor of buffing up the Reavers to six strong and grabbing a couple Ravagers. If you h ave the points spare getting some more Wyches isn't going to be a bad idea either and a 2nd Battleforce can make this all relatively possible with options for moving the army up to 1500/2000 (why it's a decent battleforce really).

If you're wanting to take the Talos though, I'd be looking at Webway lists which aren't probably going to work effectively until 1500 points where you can get multiples of them running around with enough anti-tank to back it up.
