"Hi, Kirby.
Long time reader and chatbawkser. I'm looking for critique on an Iron Warriors army, using Codex: Space Marines.
The list basically relies on a tonne of heavy shooting, but I'm not sure if there's anything obviously missing.
And as a Chaos counts-as list, I'd like to try and keep most of it as authentic as possible, and try to make few fluff concessions (I know this marks me out as fluffplayer, but I would like this army to be quite competitive.)
Master of the Forge w/ Combi Melta
Dreadnought w/ 2x TL Autocannon

Attack Bike w/ Multi-Melta

Predator w/ Autocannon, Heavy Bolter Sponsons

Predator w/ Autocannon, Heavy Bolter Sponsons
TOTAL - 1500
It's all fairly self-explanitory. Dreads and preds pick off transports, Tacticals mop up from mid-field, Attack bikes turbo to pick off anything that needs picking off before it hits the lines. One tactical squad combat squads to give the MotF a ride.
What I'm worried about is if it's too static, and horde control. There's very little anti-infantry, bar the heavy bolters and the MotF's TL plaspistol and flamer.
Best regards,
Voge Gandire."
The list itself is pretty solid. A few changes I might make though - combi-meltas become combi-flamers on two squads. On the 3rd tactical squad the Multi-melta becomes a Missile Launcher (this one combat squads) whilst retaining the combi-melta. Otherwise, looking solid. You might tweak the Dread/Attack Bike numbers (i.e. lose a Dread for two more Attack Bikes) but that's personal preference.
In terms of anti-infantry you're looking pretty - 3x Dakka Preds and 3x10x Tacticals is a lot of dakka when it comes down to it though the combi-flamers can help with that if needed (again, you may find you prefer the combi-meltas).
The only real thing which is a stickler is the MotF - a Libby is really going to be better here but I understand that the MotF is the better fit in relation to the Iron Warriors fluff here. If you want to use a Sorcerer though... well the Libby is there :P.
