Infinity Authors

Infinity is a game which really seems to be gaining traction and from the outside looking in, looks like a pretty enjoyable game. There also doesn't seem to be many places to discuss or learn Infinity outside of their main website/forums. Not a bad thing but broader discussion elsewhere is always nice!
So this is a shout-out to experienced Infinity players. We've got several introductory articles out there about Infinity already but I'm certainly interested, and I'm sure the readership would be as well, to see more in-depth Infinity articles such as unit analysis', battle reports, tactics, etc. If anyone is interested put your hand up with an e-mail to me and we can work something out hopefully!

The Armies of Infinity: Pan Oceania
Posted by
Tim
Pan Oceania is the largest, most advanced and richest society in the Human Sphere. Its culture is rooted in the former nations of the West - Germany, France, Australia, New Zealand, Scandinavia- and forms a conglomerate power with the most planets under its control.
It's forces and model range include a large variety of units, including plenty of TAGs and Remotes. Its heavy infantry are among the best in the game and even it's line troops pack a punch with their higher than average Ballistic Skill, granted them by the most advanced targeting systems and training.

Infinity The Game: Game Play Review
Posted by
Tim
Greetings. Your intrepid Infinity poster is back from a 3-week hiatus wherein I discovered just how bad ear infections can get in children, the joys and pitfalls of having a new boss and the colorful delight that is an Iwata Eclipse airbrush. What fun!
This week I'm going to take you on a stroll of Infinity gameplay. I love how Infinity plays. the game has an extremely fluid system of unit activation and, as you'll hear all over the internet, it's always your turn.

Infinity: A Look at the Miniatures
Posted by
Tim
Infinity is a great game, filled with tense moments, difficult decisions and lots of surprises. Kind of like assembling their miniatures. Haha!
Seriously though, no matter what game you play, it's about the figs am I right? We all love seeing painted models, all the new sculpts that come out and whether you paint them or not, you love seeing them kick ass on the tabletop.
So a couple points about Infinity models.
- They are incredibly detailed and dynamically posed.
- Man, are they fun to paint.
- They are few single piece models - most infinity models require assembly AND have lots of little fiddly bits.
- They are all white metal. So you'd better learn how to clean and prep a metal figure.
- On the plus side, there are new releases every month!

Guest Article: Infinity Introduction II

Old Shatter Hands has kindly decided to do some posts for us about Infinity! Enjoy :).
Hit the deck! Infinity is coming at you with increasing speed. You can't deny that in the last 8 months Infinity has found its niche on the world stage of table-top war-gamingGne. Thanks to Beasts of War's videos, awesome figures and colorful paint-jobs, the game in enjoying a time of growth and expansion. I picked up the game because of the miniatures. I wanted a game system that wasn't overwhelming in its scope when you sit down to paint. However, what hooked me was the game's ruleset. It's so detailed and offers a wealth of options for the player.

Infinity: Factions Part 1: Humanity

Before I get into this overview it is important to note that the factions in Infinity are very flexible. So it is less about what each faction can do but how they do it and how they counter it. As a result writing up this overview is a difficult task and I will focus on the various quirks of each faction rather than specific tactics.
For the record I own and play Combined, Pan O, Yu Jing (ISS), Ariadna. I also have some experience with Haqqislam. Because I am weak when it comes to tiny sci-fi metal men and women, Nomads (Bak), are on my to buy list.

With a lot of people understandably looking for alternative games to play with Games Workshop doing it's best to piss off Australians (and those Kiwi guys) and having everyone on tetherhooks about 6th edition (please don't suck, please don't suck), we've seen an increased amount of chatter about these altnerative games. One you hear a lot about but isn't covered much in-depth here on 3++ is Infinity. Firstius gives us a brief run-down of what the game is and what it's about so anyone interested can give it a look.
What is infinity?
Infinity is a 28mm sci-fi skirmish miniature game produced by Corvus Belli.
