"Hi Kerby,

Can you do a bit of C&C on my Space Wolves list, it's been a couple of weeks so I thought I'd better get you something to have a look at :). It's a 1750 point list by the way.

I've used this list once, victory to the wolves versus a sisters army, so here
goes:

Grey Hunters x 8, Melta Gun, Wolf Standard, Rhino (WG w/PF+CM + Rune Priest) -

Thunderwolf Cavalry x 3, Storm Shield, Melta Bombs - 185pts

Not to sure what to do to improve this, I could strip down the Rune Priest and take the melta bombs off the Wolf Guard to get a frost blad/axe on the Thunderwolf Cavalry, other than that no idea.

I'd be interested in how you'd cut back to 1500 or ramp up to 2k as well.

Overall the list is fine. I think the TWC could use a Wolf Claw and you don't need the Wolf stuff on the Priest but otherwise solid. The one thing I might recommend is taking one of the Grey Hunter squads and splitting it to make two smaller squads. Only three scoring options, whilst durable, limits you just a little bit without combat squads. Taking it down to 1500 I'd probably drop the TWC and trim back on the Grey Hunter numbers (1 per squad) whilst for 2000 another large (or two small) Grey Hunter squads + a LasPlas RBack fro the 3rd Fang Squad would be the best bets.

You may also get more mileage out of running a Wolf Lord/Battle Leader on TWC Mount and 1-2 TWC rather than the squad of TWC.

I ran a very similar list to this last tournament and did well with it. Try to squeeze in a couple lascannons or plasma cannons into the long fangs, and yes get a 4th scoring unit.

by ditching the 2 las/plas razorbacks and freeing up 150pts to add in the extra scorers and get the PC's on the LF's to help deal with heavier infantry far easier. Though consider also ditching those 2 Las/Plas adding a unit of 5 GH w/MG in a drop pod 115pts, fiddle with points a bit and add a CML WG at 63pts to give your army the option of a double Mg drop or to add in a MG+2 Krak missile drop for armour busting/heavy stuff shooting or to give a back line scorer that can still contribute with 2 Missiles a turn (that can move and fire as well).

Cheers for the advice guys. Scoring IS lacking no doubt, I'll try mixing up the list somewhat. Still Wolves make a harder army then my main army, CSM. Here's hoping the rumours of Chaos Legions next year is true :)
