"Hey kirby, big fan of your blog. I've been working on a footcron list for the past 2 days and I'm wondering what you think of it.
Destroyer Lord - 125

Total - 1747
Basically, the Spyders make more Scarabs turn 1/2. The scarabs act mainly to reduce armor values through multi-assaults, then the tanks can be taken down by the immortals or the wraiths (the wraiths are mainly there as a mop-up unit). The destroyer lord sticks with the wraiths to do some AT and add some punch to the squad. I would like to fit a solar pulse in there somewhere, however that would mean taking an overlord which doesn't do anything. What are your thoughts on the list?"
A solar pulse is indeed needed. First - three particle beamers seems excessive on the Spyders and whilst they do help with some extra anti-infantry, they aren't a cheap upgrade at 25 points each. Consider dropping some of these for gloom prisms which not only reduces you points but opens some wound allocation shenanigans. Also, you don't need five whip coils on the Wraiths - two/three should generally suffice. With that in mind...the only real way to get a Cryptek in there is to drop the Destroyer Lord for another HQ. I know he's a nice fit with the Wraiths but I think the Court is going to be a better fit here.
So which HQ? Traveller or Barge Overlords are really nice options on Barges but being the only vehicles sucks and moves away from the foot theme. I'm not a fan of traveller without the Barge either. Foot Overlords are pretty blah as you said. Stormlord is going to hinder this army's shooting as much as it helps its defenses. Trazyn is nice and gives more scoring + some annoying combat ability. However, I like Nemesor the best as he has some very nice utility with his counter and adaptive tactics though you could run many of the other choices and make them fit too.
With that, take Nemesor and a court with four crypteks - one solar pulse + lance and three lances. This gives you some excellent defenses with the solar pulse and some mobile anti-tank which is something the army could really help with - the scarabs aren't always going to crack enemy armor quickly. To enable this though you'll need to lose at least two spyders (and the down-grade to gloom prisms on some of the particle casters).
I'd be hesitant to say the list is good though. You've got a very durable core of Troops with 36 Immortals + Nemesor's Orb and with the Spyders you have some decent counter-attack ability with the Scarabs/Wraiths pushing up - but is it enough? I feel in most cases with Footcrons tweaking to a Hybrid (i.e. Overlord Barges + Night Scythes) might be beneficial. Anyway, see how it goes and report back please ;P.
