First, let me say how much I enjoy your blog. My employer has lost hours of productivity from me due to you fellas.
I am building a 2000 pt. pure deathwing army for casual 40k in my nerd cave. I've read all the threads about how doublewing is the way to go to be competitive and I agree but speeders and power armor just don't fit in with the fluffy theme I'm going for here. I'm basically trying to limit myself to terminator armor, land raiders, and dreadnoughts. My friends and I allow Forgeworld units in our games because, let's face it, the models are too cool! So what I would love to hear your opinion on is, could Forgeworld units (Contemptor, Land Raider Achilles, Storm Eagle, Mortis Dread, etc.) provide the necessary tools to make a pure deathwing army work?
Below is what I'm currently considering:
Belial 130
Deathwing terminator squad 290
Apothecary TH/SS
1 TH/SS + cyclone missile launcher
1 TH/SS + Deathwing Banner
2 TH/SS
Deathwing terminator squad 240
2 TH/SS
1 TH/SS + Cyclone missile launcher
1 storm bolter + chainfist
1 storm bolter
Deathwing terminator squad 240

Mortis Dreadnought 125
2x TL autocannons

The dreads just seem like my best option. I Find the thought of an up-armored thunderfire cannon intriguing, though, and it just might work since the troops won't need to be hauled into combat. I have no good recommendations on contemptors so I can't decide on how to proceed there. Storm Eagles just look too expensive for my needs.
Help me Kirby Wan Kenobi. You're my only hope!
Thanks,

>.< I face palmed at the last one.
The Mortis Dread a fine addition really - Eggnoughts wouldn't be amiss either but are a bit more expensive so you'd be looking at running two or less Terminators. The Achilles though is a right pain in the rear for many opponents since it laughs at many of the rules to deal with AV14 - chucking one in isn't going to hurt though and it does bring two things Deathwing could always enjoy - ranged anti-infantry and melta.
If you wanted to incorporate one of these I'd be looking at running 25 Terminators and two Mortis Dreads - the points works out in my head atm but you could also run the Dreads as Eggnoughts or if the Achilles can be a dedicated transport, three Mortis Dreads depending upon points.
Otherwise what you have looks pretty solid given the restrictions you are placing upon yourself.
