Email in: Chaos Marines [1250]

"Hey Kirby,
I've stumbled across your Chaos Marine articles, and started reading through; but a short while in, I thought maybe this list still worked out okay in a small points match (1,250).
I'll keep going - I don't play C Marines myself, but am writing up for a friend - but what would you think of this list? I know we don't do 1,250 - but I believe that is what MOAB is running as this year.
My thoughts are maybe in only 1,250, your opponent doesn't have the guns to take out the Daemons in the first turn; so perhaps lash can be worthwhile here. The Rhinos have daemonic, so the blastmasters can fire out of the hatch until the vehicle itself is destroyed.
1,250 Chaos Marines
Daemon Prince, Slaanesh, Lash of Submission, Wings (155)
Daemon Prince, Slaanesh, Lash of Submission, Wings (155)
Noise Marines x5 (215)
- Blastmaster
- Rhino, Daemonic, Havoc Launcher, Dozerblade
Noise Marines x5 (215)
- Blastmaster
- Rhino, Daemonic, Havoc Launcher, Dozerblade
Noise Marines x5 (210)
- Blastmaster
- Rhino, Daemonic, Havoc Launcher
Obliterators x2 (150)
Obliterators x2 (150)"
At 1250 your opponent is indeed going to have a hard time dropping two DPs in one turn, unless you're Tau or DE or who just lols at these point levels. Does it make lash worth it? No. Nurgle/Warptime is still a lot better. The Oblits are fine at this points level but the Noise Marines? Ew. More expensive than normal CSM for I5? Woopee. The Rhinos are also too expensive with Daemonic and Dozerblade. Switch these guys to mass CSM and the Princes to Nurgle and it's an alright list at 1250 in terms of overall balance but at these point levels 40k doesn't really work anyway.

I agree; but my friend already has a slaneesh force, and being GW Staff, wants to run something fluffy but stronger.
I figured blastmasters in rhinos that couldn't be stopped shooting unless you kill the blastmaster? Not such a bad thing..
And if I'm going with the noise marines, then I probably need the DP/Slaanesh as well.
Actually, daemonic possession does not effect the passengers. So you just spent 20 pts to keep a TL bolter firing.
It's when you come up against something like this:
Taak's Puppies on the fly, 1,250pts:
HQ: Rune Priest, Living lightning, Murderous Hurricane, Chooser of the Slain - 110pts
Elites: Lone Wolf, TDA, SS, CF - 85pts
Troops 1: 5 Grey Hunters, Flamer, Rhino - 110pts
Troops 2: 5 Grey Hunters, Flamer, Las/plas Razorback - 150pts
Troops 3: 5 Grey Hunters, Flamer, Las/plas Razorback - 150pts
Fast Attack 1: Thunderwolf w/Powerfist - 75pts
Fast Attack 2: Thunderwolf w/Powerfist - 75pts
Fast Attack 3: Thunderwolf w/Powerfist - 75pts
Heavy Support 1: 6 Long Fangs, 5xMissile Launcers - 140pts
Heavy Support 2: 6 Long Fangs, 5xMissile Launcers - 140pts
Heavy Support 3: 6 Long Fangs, 5xMissile Launcers - 140pts
Total = 1,250pts
That this whole concept of 2 Daemon Princes can't be swatted on the first trun goes right out the window. And say good bye to the oblits second turn at the latest as well.
Auretious Taak.
P.S. Not sure if I can make MOAB this year, if 1,250pts and no comp then the above list would be amusng for me to run. If comp, it'll get rejected.
@Jason; then he has no hope I'm afraid ^^. Slannesh CSM = fail. You could try Slannesh Daemons of Chaos where Fiends are at least good units but ya...mono-Chaos in any form suck atm.
