Sir Biscuit Fights!

I had an awesome game against Mordian 7th last weekend and he was cool enough to record the whole thing! Not only that, but for the first time all you people on the internet can see that I do indeed actually own an army and it's even painted. Wohoo marines!

It's my crusading marines vs. the homebrew Adeptus Mechanicus that the Tempus Fugitives made. It's a hell of a fandex and very cool, I'm a big fan of all of their stuff.

No, it's not a "competitive" game or an example of high level tight play, but it was fun hell and on one of my favorite tables to play on, period. I won't be posting it here because you should be commenting on it over at Mordian 7ths site.

Anyway, that's all for now troopers. Hopefully my new motherboard will bless me with a computer once more and I'll have something for you next week!

The fandex may be cool but it seems seriously underpowered, Their supposed primary troops, Hypatians, are marginally better guardsmen in drop pods at 10 pts each. Wtf? 180 pts for a suicidal delivery platform with 3 meltas at Bs 3.5? It is crap.

If you take them you can take Sagittarii which suck somewhat less at 190 pts for 4 relentless bs 3.5 autocannons. At 10W T4 4+ the unit is still not that durable.

Electro priest are even worse at 30 points for T 4, 4++ infantry that can't shoot or take transports. Vespid or pyrovores or swooping hawks looks good in comparison. Actually I can not think of a unit that is worse than them .

The last choice is fearless conscripts with Furious Charge and a laspistol at 4 pts each. They make good bubblewrap but an army cannot live on bubblewrap alone, and efficient fire support is kind of lacking in this army.

One of the best AT units in the list is PotMS Leman russes with heavy D3 railguns and las cannon sponsons at Bs 3.5. But at 255 pts it is expensive and kind of a big target. Here you will need the bubble wrap.

Other choices include AV 13 dreads with conversion beamers and auto cannons at 155 pts in elites and Av 11 sentinels with multi meltas at 55 pts in Fast.

I have not looked at the Titans though.

TL; DR the codex has as troops utterly crap infantry with drop pods as the only dedicated transports and expensive fire support units. It will probablyu get it ass hande too it by orks or chaos or even deamons let alone a competitive list. The generally low power level, the gimickyness and the fact that all normal infantry squads are horribad is really poor rules design.

Here is the best list I could make from the top of my head at 2000 pts. It's in the same ballpark as his 3000pts list with much stronger Anti Tank(4 double melta units and 6 las cannons+ 3 heavy d3 rail guns at 6 targets) but laughable Anti infantry (6 multi laser sentinels and some small arms fire). It will have trouble claiming forward objectives since all the troops are brittle but that comes with the list.
