Posted by

It's been a little while since the new flyers released, and today I have for you a closer look at Jkin's Stormtalon Attack Helicopter conversion.
It's still a work in progress, but I figured I'd show it off to help inspire mad converters out there, as to the potential of this kit!
Be sure to checkout the original post here. http://blog.spikeybits.com/2012/06/stormtalon-helicopter-work-in-progress.html - Have at it guys! -MBG

The Walking Dead: Zombie Guardsmen!
Posted by
Unknown

Master Shake has been at it again. Fresh off finishing the Orkquisition, his big Grey Knights counts as project, he's back with the Zombie Guard.
And who doesn't like zombies? They are all over the TV and internets, so why not make a 40k army of them? Well he did, and if this first veteran squad is any indication, his new army will rock.

Greatcoats- New Imperial Guard Henchmen / Stormtroopers
Posted by
Unknown
MBG here with some fun little conversions I did recently....The other day I finally had my chance to work on a project I had been really looking forward to doing for awhile, Greatcoats.
I had this conversions idea way back when I was doing my traitor guard that I never got to implement, but I really though would look great.
Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of alternate kits out there to use for Greatcoat models- all of which are great, but I'm just kinda a Games Workshop fan boy and only like working with their kits.

God Wills it! Crusading Black Templar Terminators
Posted by

MBG back with more from the mad converter, Jkin!
Well the honeymoon is officially over, Jkin has once again jumped ship to another project. Last week I featured his Arjac Rockfist, and SW Rhino with Interior detail.
This week however he started constructing a Black Templar crusade army.
One of first projects for them is this squad of Sword Brethern Terminators.

Astartes Madness? Spartan Marines!
Posted by
Unknown
MBG here again with some hobby madness?!! Jkin has been at it again. This guy really comes up with some great work on the fly.
Today I have for you the first of his converted Spartan Marines. He's going to be making a whole army of these guys, and I have no doubts that he can do it either.
To make his "Spartans" Jkin de-ultraed Marenus Calgar's honor Guard, and then added in a spear from the Beastmen kit for their Close Combat Weapon.
He also use the Liquid Green Stuff to help clean up the gouges from removing the Ultramarine symbols. Three Sixty below.

Conversion Corner Cadian Hovercraft
Posted by
Unknown
MBG here again with this amazing kit-bashed Hovercraft! I cant imagine how much the actual cost of this model ended up being, but it's still awesome!
Looks like whomever made it attached a converted Baneblade on top of a 1:35? Scale Hovercraft, and then converted it out to mesh together.
This creation was on display during Games Workshop's Conversion Contest at a recent Games Day, and it rocks!
I regret that I don't have better pics for you guys, because of Games Day's plexi-glass view guard, but I think this is still worth a post!
Let's take a closer look, click to enlarge!

Army Showcase: Hammer of The Forge
Posted by
Unknown
MBG here with a sweet custom Space Marine chapter for you to check out.
Yepimadork came up with this themed escalation army back in the dawn of 5th Edition. He named his chapter the Hammer of the Forge, and they rock.
Besides converting the dreads to be the un-released at the time Ironclads, he also painted up the army in a non conventional scheme and based it as if on Martian soil.
Back then you could still find some of the old colored primer cans from GW, so he used a spray can of Camo Green, and highlighted it with a mix of Camo and Ivory (from Vallejo Model color). Then he used Gore Red on the guns, and accented the figures with Beige on the shoulders and brass for the trim.

Conversion: Scratch Built Ork Stompa
Posted by

Har, Har, Har! Check out this amazing Scratch built Ork Stompa.
First off, pardon the sneeze guard with scratchy glass Games Workshop uses to keep your models protected.
The best conversions in my option are always the ones you can't figure out how they made it.
Besides a few bits here and there, I really have no idea what this thing is made out of- it could be insulation foam in there for all I know, lol.
I just recently found all my Games Day pictures (YEAH!) and this guy was one of the last things I snapped!

WIP Truescale Dakka / Psybolt Dreadnought
Posted by
Unknown
MBG here, with a some sweet WIP shots of a Psynought Dred. My buddy Beef (hold the cheddar) stopped by the other day with a new WIP, a Ravenguard Dakka Dreadnought
He converted this puppy up good, with a bunch of solid true scale aspects, heck you can't even tell those are sentinel legs till you see it from behind.
The model kinda almost reminds me of a Battletech Mech as well. I'm no expert on that game, so I wont even try to name the specific Mech, BUT it's definitely close to one of them.

Land Speeder Conversions & Marine WIP
Posted by
Unknown
I've always had an issue with the Land Speeders and the justification used for them not being open-topped. Hurrr I'm in Powa ARMOR! I count as AV10 RAWR. Then a Lascannon comes in and hits your console because there's no armor to stop it...but it's okay you're in POWA ARMOR. Anyway, I know realism isn't a thing with 40k but it's always a look that's annoyed me on the new Speeder models (I like the old 2nd ed ones more as speeders) so I decided to make mine 'enclosed' - much like the Tempest model (and not having money to spend on Tempest models). Thus, I used some plasticard and elbow grease to make my own enclosures!
Of course prolifercation of magnets was also a requirement to ensure the Typhoon missile launchers can come off at any time, an underslung weapon can be added in and the heavy bolter can be swapped out. It's both a Typhoon and any other Land Speeder I could want. Love you long time magnets.

MBG back again with some more Spaze Marine conversion goodies.
A little while ago I did a tutorial on my Pre-Heresy Iron Fists Army, but I left one model out- my Librarian.
Today we're going to take a look how I made him, and how you can make your own (as there is no model for the Power Armor Librarian right now- sad pandas)
